Fereshteh Zamani: IT Security Champion Nominee - 2021 AWSN Awards

It’s been a big year for Loop, celebrating our growth and continually exceeding client expectations when it comes to delivering our services! Another major announcement we’d like to share is the recent news that our very own GRC consultant, Fereshteh Zamani, has been nominated at the 2021 Australian Women in Security Awards in Sydney on the 13th of October 2021.

The Australian Women in Security Awards celebrates individuals who inspire young women and men to consider a career in the industry and help raise the Australian IT, Cyber and Protective Security profile—recognising and honouring their accomplishments, value, and contributions to the Australian Market.

In her category, the IT Security Champion award recognises the individual who effectively acts as the voice of security in any given product or team. It applauds the person who’s mastered the art of engaging people with the IT security message – and is more aware and better equipped to deal with ever-evolving IT security threats.

As an advocate for IT security over the past 15 years, Fereshteh’s diverse background allows her to flourish in various roles in a wide range of industries. Her roles constantly vary to support client needs, from leading a community of practice for mutual banks complying to CPS 234, to developing information security strategies aligned with VPDSF requirements, to developing incident response plans for critical infrastructures and ensuring insurance companies have their information security policy set up, implemented and maintained. Nothing is missed under her sharp observations; she enables non-technical and security teams to improve their security posture and align them with trusted security principles.

Her achievements are no small feat; Fereshteh is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), a Certified ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, and a PCI Qualified Security Assessor (PCI QSA). Her clients can attest to the influential work she has performed:

“Thanks, Fereshteh – I really appreciate your work! Starting to feel like a formal IT Department is forming over this way.” ( IT Operations Manager – Health Industry)

Presenting all our Loop values internally and to our clients, we are beyond proud of Fereshteh’s nomination for the award. Her passion and commitment to drive proactive changes for organisations to their security program are vital to the overall security of the Australian market. Rome was not built in a day, but you can expect her to build it brick by brick to ensure her client's security posture is built on solid foundations and best practices in the industry. We couldn’t be more excited for Fereshteh, and if you’re lucky enough to have engaged with her, you know how valuable she is to the success of your organisation!

Let’s celebrate Fereshteh’s nomination and bring it home by giving her the award she deserves!
